Welcome to Message Monday!
Yesterday, we talked about how important it is to include what you're FOR: your dream, your vision of a better world, in your messages. Ideally, you START with the dream, something your audience wants. Most progressive/Democrat messages start (if not end) with a problem, something they're AGAINST, instead.
This recent tweet from National Nurses United falls into that trap, too, but fortunately doesn't spend too much time there:
"This is unacceptable: in the U.S. Black mothers are 3-4X more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than their white counterparts."
Then the vision (not the most inspirational version, but OK):
#MedicareForAll will guarantee the same high quality care for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, income, employment, or location."
Many people will mostly notice the graphic, though, which is perfect: The vision of a healthy, happy, pregnant Black woman and her daughter, and the message: "Medicare For All Will Save Black Lives." Now was that so hard?
